What does the monthly fee include?
The monthly fee depends on the work the company needs. It can cover bookkeeping, VAT, payroll, CIS, year-end accounts, corporation tax and the director’s personal tax. Advice on hiring, premises and tax planning can also be included. Crosby agrees the scope and fixed monthly fee before work starts. Egbenn never bills from a timesheet.
Can I switch accountants if I already have one?
Yes. Most owners who move to Egbenn already have an accountant. The change often starts because contact stops at year end or advice arrives after the decision. Egbenn reviews the last accounts and current position first. If there is a fit, it then manages the handover directly.
Do we have to move accounting software?
That decision is made after Egbenn checks how the books, payroll and filing access are currently set up. A change only makes sense when it helps keep the monthly records current. Any move is agreed before work starts. The handover covers access, opening balances and the information needed for the next return.
What happens with our current accountant?
Egbenn writes to the current accountant and requests professional clearance. It then collects the accounts, bookkeeping, tax, VAT and payroll information needed. You do not have to manage the back and forth. Missing work is identified, catch-up fees are discounted and the next filing dates are mapped.
How long does switching accountants take?
There is no single timescale because the records and upcoming deadlines differ between companies. Egbenn first checks what the previous accountant holds and what remains outstanding. Urgent returns are identified before routine work. Crosby then explains the handover plan and agrees the monthly scope before work starts.
Can a limited company change accountant mid-year?
Yes. A company can change accountant during its financial year. Egbenn checks which VAT, payroll, CIS and tax filings have already been completed. The remaining deadlines are then assigned as part of the handover. The monthly records are brought current, with discounted catch-up work where it is needed.
