What this disclaimer covers
Egbenn Accountancy is a trading name of Egbenn Limited, company number 11968982, registered in England and Wales. This disclaimer applies to everything the firm publishes: the service, location and about pages, blog posts and guides, any documents you can download, the calculators and tools in the resources section, and anything posted on the firm’s social media accounts. Read it with the Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is handled, and the Terms and Conditions, which cover use of the site.
Information, not advice
Everything published here is general information written for owners of UK limited companies. It cannot take account of your own position: how the company is structured, the way you pay yourself, your VAT history, what your last accountant filed, or anything already open with HMRC or Companies House. Two businesses with the same turnover often need different answers. If you act on a page of this website without speaking to anyone, that decision is yours and the risk sits with you. For an answer you can rely on, engage Egbenn formally or speak to another ACCA qualified accountant who has seen your numbers. The usual first step here is a few quick questions on the site, then the free growth review with Crosby.
Accuracy and currency
Tax rules move, and published pages stay where they are.
Accurate at the time of publishing
Pages and guides are written against HMRC and Companies House guidance as it stood on the date they were published. Rates, thresholds, allowances and filing dates change, so a figure that was right when an article went up may not be right when you read it.
Tax law changes
UK tax changes at least once a year at the Budget, and sometimes in between through an Autumn statement, HMRC guidance updates or statutory instruments. Rates, bands and thresholds quoted in an article can fall out of date quickly, including VAT, payroll, CIS and corporation tax figures.
No promise that every page is updated
Egbenn reviews content from time to time but does not undertake to keep every page current. Treat anything published more than twelve months ago with care, and check the current rate or deadline with HMRC at gov.uk or with Crosby before you use it.
Check before you act
Where a decision involves money leaving the business, a filing date, a payment to HMRC or a submission in your company’s name, confirm the current rules first. Ask Crosby or another qualified accountant rather than relying on a web page, however well it reads.
No accountant and client relationship
Reading this website, downloading a guide, using a calculator, answering the quiz, sending the contact form or having the free growth review with Crosby does not make you a client of Egbenn Limited. That relationship starts only when Egbenn and your company have agreed the work and signed an engagement letter, with the monthly fee agreed before any work starts. Until that point Egbenn is not acting for you, is not responsible for decisions you make, and the firm’s professional indemnity insurance does not apply to your affairs. If you want someone accountable for the answer, the route is to engage the firm.
External links and third parties
Pages on this site link out to other places, usually gov.uk, HMRC, Companies House, the ACCA, accounting software providers or sources quoted in an article. Egbenn has no control over those sites and is not responsible for their content, their accuracy or what they do with your data once you leave this site. A link is there because it was useful at the time; it is not an endorsement of that organisation, its products or any advice it gives. Check anything you find there before you act on it.
Calculators and tools
Any calculator or tool on this site gives an indicative figure only. It works from the handful of inputs you type in, so it cannot see your full position: other income, directors’ loans, prior year adjustments, what is already paid on account, reliefs or losses carried forward, or anything that makes your company different. Do not use an output from this site to file a return, agree a salary, sign a lease or commit money. Specific calculations for your company are part of an engagement, prepared from records Egbenn has actually reviewed.
Liability
This section is about content published on the website. It does not touch the work Egbenn does for clients under an engagement.
Where Egbenn has been engaged to act for your company, the firm’s responsibilities and the limits on them are set out in your engagement letter and the terms attached to it. Those documents lead. What follows deals only with people reading or using this website without an engagement in place.
What is not limited
Nothing here limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales. Those protections stand whatever this page says.
What is limited
To the fullest extent the law allows, Egbenn Limited is not liable for loss arising from reliance on website content alone. That includes financial loss, lost business or lost time, a tax position taken on the strength of an article, a deadline missed, a penalty or interest charged by HMRC, or a commercial decision such as a hire, a van or new premises made without advice on your own figures.
When to engage the firm
If your situation needs an answer you can rely on and hold someone to, answer a few quick questions on the site and, where there is a fit, Crosby will arrange the free growth review. If the firm then takes the work on, the engagement letter sets out what Egbenn is responsible for, the fixed monthly fee is agreed before any work starts, and the firm’s professional indemnity cover applies.
Copyright and content
The text, photographs, guides and tools on this site belong to Egbenn Limited or are used under licence. You are welcome to read them, quote a short passage and share a link with a credit back to egbenn.co.uk. Reproducing material commercially, republishing a guide as your own or using it to train a product requires written permission. Full terms are in the Terms and Conditions.
Changes to this disclaimer
Egbenn may update this page as the website changes or as the law does. The current wording is always the version published here, and the last reviewed date at the top is updated when it changes. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised wording.
