Income tax calculator
Put in a salary and see the income tax on it for 2026/27, wherever in the UK it is paid. Useful when you are setting your own pay or working out what an offer to a new member of staff is worth.
How this calculator works
- Enter the gross salary for the year and choose where the tax is paid, because Scotland has its own bands.
- The calculator applies the 2026/27 rates shown on this page and gives you the income tax on that salary and what is left of it.
- Run it twice, once on the salary now and once on the figure you are thinking about, so you can see the difference before you commit to it.
What it cannot see
The calculator only sees a salary. It knows nothing about dividends out of the company, rental or other income, pension contributions, losses carried forward, a student loan or a tax code HMRC has changed. National Insurance is worked out separately, and the employer’s share sits with the company rather than with you. So treat the answer as one part of the picture, not your tax position for the year.
See what your own numbers say
Answer a few quick questions about the company and Crosby comes back with a recommendation. If there is a fit, he goes through your last accounts, how you pay yourself and the tax position for the year ahead on a free growth review.
